accumulation accumulating

2026-06-13

nervous system is a damn fine actor
he can see what's what and take shape and emulate
he can tune into whatever frequency is being played
an actor without a script to read
it was a thunderous night, last night
thunder kept hitting home,
it was the loudest i've ever heard
first time i've been scared of thunder
first time, in a long time i felt fear
a true fear
primordial fear
nervous system is a damn fine actor
i think about that fear and i'm afraid
if i stop thinking about it,
am i still afraid? since i have been.
is there such a thing as past? does it pass?
doesn't it all just accumulate?
one up each other until the end
one up each other until the end.

how do you want to read?

poems can unravel themselves as you read, line by line, at a considered pace — or just sit there, fully visible, like normal.

change this anytime — look for “reading: …” near the top of any poem.
