©untitled,august31,a journey to the sea

2026-08-31

saw a turtle on what i deemed was a tough spot, moved it elsewhere, it went back. i was walking towards the sea, a cat was ahead of me, i called it and it came back. phone on the ground, towel wrapped around my neck, they played with its loose ends, i played with them. i was walking towards the sea, a dog was behind of me, i saw their teats, and i waited for her she caught up to me, towel wrapped around my neck, we played, i was set out to reach the sea, i continued on my path, she followed when i called her by mama berry bushes, sun up and behind a shade was there, she briefly paused and caught her breath. she got up, followed, till we disbanded. i was walking towards the sea, touched by all i witness, i looked up and saw a flock of crows, they formed a lucid arrow, i watched, eye was teary eyed, i continued my journey. i was almost by the sea, atop the hills overlooking the sea were sitting crows, watching the waves, i've looked at what they were looking at, then caught eyes with one, they seem to knew i could hit crow pose. their fellows took flight, was it my presence? didn't fly too far, landed 5 meters ahead, then we caught eyes again with the same crow, i proceeded. by then i was by the sea, it was wavy, i thought of being unmoved by it, and being pushed around by it. do you break something or let it break you? sometimes i dissolve the waves, sometimes i duck under and watch it pass, sometimes i stand before it and surrender, today i did neither, eye seen what sea would show, without being submerged in it. that doesn't mean i won't walk the same path tomorrow, not knowing what it'll bring or take away. maybe the waves will settle, or i will. wild waters are calm underneath, eye know, i know.

how do you want to read?

poems can unravel themselves as you read, line by line, at a considered pace — or just sit there, fully visible, like normal.

change this anytime — look for “reading: …” near the top of any poem.
